Ruff Cuts Dog Salon
My name is Raquel, and I’m 24 years old. I’ve been grooming dogs since 2018. Growing up with multiple dogs of different breeds and sizes, I developed a passion for caring for animals. My first dog was a Shih Tzu, and I was always amazed by how the groomer made him look.
Since then, my love for dogs has flourished. From raising pups to training, grooming, and caring for animals, I’ve done it all. My goal is to build lasting relationships with both dogs and their owners. I treat every dog as if they were my own, with love and patience. Every dog brings me joy, and I strive to ensure they look and feel their best.
Hi, my name is Barbara, and I’ve been a bather at Ruff Cuts Dog Salon & Boutique for almost three years! I have two dogs—one is a Frenchie, and the other is a German Shepherd. I also have two cats named Nala and Mufasa. What I love most about my job is building relationships with the dogs and getting to know their unique personalities.
My grooming journey began in March 2022 as an intern at Ruff Cuts. Starting from scratch, I’ve learned everything I know from Liz, who has been an amazing mentor. Most of my working experience has always involved animals—from pet stores and dog training to dog sitting, walking, and now grooming.
At home, I have two beautiful kids and six furry companions—four dogs and two cats. I don’t have a favorite breed to groom yet, but I enjoy making every dog look their best and feel comfortable.
I began my career bathing dogs for a daycare in Pleasantville, NY, in 2003. In 2006, I decided to learn grooming and enrolled at The New York School of Dog Grooming. I started grooming part-time and have loved it ever since. In 2012, I was honored to be named Best Dog Groomer of the Year by Westchester Magazine.
I share my home with my husband, six cats, and my Chow/Shar Pei mix named Baby. My love for animals drives me to be the best I can in this field, working with clients to ensure their pets look and feel amazing. My favorite breeds to groom are Poodles and Springer Spaniels.
I received my degree in Veterinary Technology in 1998 and worked as a licensed veterinary technician for many years. After retiring from the veterinary field, I became a groomer at Ruff Cuts.
I don’t have a favorite breed to groom yet, but I love making all dogs look “pretty.” I have three dogs at home—and would love to have more! “The more, the merrier!” While I don’t have a favorite breed, a dachshund will always stop me in my tracks.
Hi, my name is Mackenna, and for the past three years, I’ve been the receptionist at Ruff Cuts. While I love seeing everyone’s furry friends every day, my favorite part of the job is connecting with clients. Remember to book your appointments!
Owner & Lead Stylist
I began my career as a dog groomer in 2008 and joined Ruff Cuts Dog Salon & Boutique in October 2012. Since January 2019, I’ve proudly owned the salon. I’ve always had a deep love for animals, especially horses, dogs, and birds. Coming from a family of avid animal lovers, I grew up with German Shepherds and any stray dog my parents would let me bring home.
I have an Australian Shepherd named Lucy, who accompanies me to work every day. I’m also a single mom to two young women in college. One of the best parts of my job is seeing dogs I’ve groomed for over 10 years and maintaining great relationships with their families.
My favorite dogs to groom are Poodles and Doodles.
Hi, my name is Carmen, and I’ve been grooming dogs since 1990. I’ve been part of the Ruff Cuts team for eight years. I’ve had dogs my entire life, and my favorite breed is Yorkies. My favorite part of grooming is seeing how healthy and happy the dogs we care for are—and making them look their best!
I’ve been working at Ruff Cuts since 2019 and grooming since 2020. I’ve always been an animal lover. Growing up, my family and friends had everything from dogs and cats to parrots, lizards, rodents, and fish. I also spent a lot of time riding horses and working on a horse farm, but dogs have always held a special place in my heart.
I can’t imagine a better career than grooming. I love helping pups look and feel their best, while also ensuring they’re comfortable during their spa day. I have an American Staffordshire Terrier named Willow, also known as Beanie, who loves showing off her beautiful smile! I enjoy grooming all breeds, though I have a soft spot for terriers.
